A modern, stylish compound, with main house, pool and guest studio, overlooking an ancient redwood forest. Situated on 13 acres next to a 40 acre old-growth redwood county park and 1400 acres of undeveloped woods, you have no view of human habitation and can easily imagine self-sufficient living. Nevertheless, in your sunny clearing, you have a swimming pool, two throughly renovated structures with clean, modern style within, and a 5 minute drive to some of the finest wineries, craft beer makers, and farm-to-table eateries in the world. If you care to venture further, you can drive 20 miles past notable Pinot Noir wineries, through awe-inspiring old-growth redwood forests, to the rugged cliffs of the Mendocino Coast and the quaint town of Mendocino for delicious baked goods and chocolate.

Anderson Valley, located less than 100 miles north of San Francisco, is an area blessed with a temperate cool coastal climate. Boonville is a small town, where everyone knows each other and looks out for one another, but with a sophistication that brings top notch food and wine to the region.  Cutting through the coastal range, the west or “deep end” of the Anderson Valley is only a few miles from the beautiful rugged coast of the Pacific Ocean, including the quaint tourist town of Mendocino, with a wealth of shops and restaurants as well as breathtaking beaches and coastal cliff views.  The town of Boonville is 20 miles to the east ,in the heart of the valley. The combination of warm sunny days and cool foggy nights and mornings makes for a relaxing vacation experience, and also allows winegrowers to achieve some of the best vintages of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.

    Getting there

Fly into San Francisco International Airport, and rent a car to drive north on 101 to the twists and turns of Highway 128 toward Boonville.  With traffic (and there will be some, as this is the busy San Francisco area), it will take about 3 hours.  San Franciscans are used to driving and the roads are easy to navigate, so don't let the distance stop you from exploring this special, unspoiled region of Northern California.  Make sure to arrive during daylight, as our property is in a rural wooded area and it is best first navigated in the daytime.

You will certainly need a car in this region and there is much to explore, from the local wineries and award-winning restaurants, to the Navarro river, old growth redwood forests, and the rugged Pacific coast.  Though you may be happy just sipping your wine by the pool during our warm (often quite hot) summer days.
