The Retreat received the prestigious TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and has over 70 excellent reviews. It is a single apartment in a cottage above the private heated indoor swimming pool room giving it wonderful views across the fields. The Retreat comprises a luxurious double bedroom with en-suite shower featuring a king size bed and Chinese furniture. A proper fold-out double bed settee allows extra sleeping in the sitting area. Double doors and a Juliet balcony give views of the orchard and across the croquet lawn. The fully equipped kitchen is tucked in the corner of the generous living area with flat screen TV, comfortable settees and a dining table. A wide double-glazed glass screen leads to an elevated paved balcony with outdoor seating and distant views to the church and historic Wolferlow Court.
The 9m heated indoor pool also has a Finnish sauna, wet room and table tennis table / gym. It is totally private and exclusive for The Retreat and accessible at all times. It is much appreciated by many of our guests either couples or young families.
The large gardens are open each year (one day on 13 June 2015) for the National Garden Scheme and include an orchard, wildflower meadow with ponds, herbaceous borders and distant views across neighbouring farmland. Well away from any busy roads the property is peaceful and private. We have friendly horses and one sheep in the fields.
Attention to detail includes the provision of top quality bed linen, towels and luxury towelling robes. A new Wifi connection now provides excellent broadband reception. Professional chef supper menu provided on enquiry for meals delivered to you - highly recommended.
The Retreat is ideal for a couple looking for a romantic and luxury getaway or to bring the baby / younger children and enjoy a family time together. If the party is a little larger it is often possible to use double en-suite bedrooms in the main house on a sleeping only basis at a separate charge - please enquire with booking.
Well behaved pets are accepted (subject to a small additional charge) but must be declared when booking.
