    Description

    Black Rhino Lodge 21 (Phirimba Lodge (meaning sunset)) is one of 24 lodges privately owned in Pilenesberg National Park.

    The lodge covers 600 square meters and comprises 4 seperate sleeping units, each with a huge full bathroom, outside shower and small sitting area and patios.

    The central entertaining area is a large thatched building containig a full open plan kitchen, tv lounge, bar, pool table and dining table seating 12.

    An outside lapa for evening fires, grill area and a pool with pool deck is available. At the back there is a hit tub.

    An elevated game viewing deck is situated over the water supply tanks, and the lodge is surrounded by electric fencing to keep large game out.

    Pilanesberg National Park is situated on an extinct volcano. It is one of three volcanos on earth that imploded when the underlying tectonic plates shifted about 40 million years ago. It makes for very beatiful and unusual African bush scenery. It is home to the big five in the animal kingdom and hosts white and black rhino which is regularly seen. Pilanesberg has a very successful anti rhino poaching unit and is a haven for these ebdangered animals

    Getting there

    Driving from OR Tambo airport will take about 2 hours. The pilanesberg airport is close by. There are flights and busses from Johannesberg to Sun City and Pilanesberg airport. We can request our game ranger to fetch you from Pilanesberg airport or Sun City. This trip will, however, be on an open game viewing vehicle!
