This house was built in 1940 of the best timber (and without scrimping) with all the best construction methods of the time. It has been updated over the years to make a most comfortable home.
There are four huge bedrooms, with one being used as a sewing/hobby room. Queen beds on two and double in the other. There is a sofa bed as well.
The main level includes the living room (with large TV), dining area (with attached seating area), kitchen, sunroom/breakfast room, and the guest bedroom. If a guest is unable to climb the stairs, they could live comfortably on the main level.
There is a bathroom on both floors, and laundry and garage are downstairs.
There is room on street level for parking on the property.

Our home exchange is positioned on a hill overlooking the city of Launceston. It is just a short walk to town and the Cataract Gorge. All shopping is close by as are numerous cafes, restaurants, parks and other attractions. Nearby is the Cataract Gorge Reserve. Cafe, Restaurant, swimming, walking, picnicking. The south Esk river passes through the gorge and the swimming pool to the wide Tamar Estuary

Just a short walk from city centre. From Launceston Airport and the south of Tasmania, follow the main highway into town, turn left at Frederick Street, left into Hillside and then right into Canning Street - no 145 is on the left. Airport is 15 minutes away. Ferry terminal to the mainland is at Devonport about 75 minutes away.
Car is Needed and our car can be included in an home exchange by negotiation. There is a bus service to town and that connects with routes to all sections of the city. A bus service to Hobart and Devonport.
