Spacious, modern studio measuring 27 sq. meters with large balcony ( 8 sq. m) facing south.
The studio was renovated in 2010 and very well designed with many space-saving features, like a proper double bed which can be folded away in the morning, resulting in a spacious living room. Also tucked away out of sight ample closet space.
Open-plan kitchen with fridge and dishwasher. Living area with French windows to the sunny balcony with stunning views.
Just 300 m east from the center of the lovely, scenic village of Samoens and 5 minutes by car from the cable to the Grand Massif skiing arena (Ski bus stop in front of the property).
In summer it is only a brief walk to the open-air swimming pool of Samoens and the lake (Lac aux dames) and recreational facilities there.
The property is easily accessed - only an hour away by car from Geneva, Annecy and Chamonix, and just 20 minutes from the A40 motorway.
Cellar of 1 x 2 meters
Outside, private parking.
Our studio is just 300 m from the village square. Samoens is the only French ski resort proudly described as one of their monuments historiques, that just happens to be attached to a great ski area. An hour by car from Geneva, this ancient village, famed for its stonemasons, is part of the Grand Massif ski domain and is connected to high-altitude, snowsure Flaine. Consisting of five resorts – Flaine, Samoëns, Morillon, Sixt and Les Carroz. The Grand Massif offers 265km of piste; 80 per cent of the slopes are north facing, so hold the snow well, and the majority of the clientele is French, but English is widely spoken here. The centre of Samoëns is traffic free, and has a beautiful square dominated by a magnificent lime tree. For the self-caterer, the main street is a delight, full of gourmet shops offering mountain ham, local cheese and mouth-watering pâtisserie. Every Wednesday there is a wonderful market selling local produce. There is also a handful of gorgeous Savoyard interior designer shops offering Alpine bric-a-brac: old skis, retro skiing photographs, antler lamps, "polar bear" skin rugs, and pretty china decorated with hearts.

Excellent location on the edge of the village Samoens in the Haute Savoie region. We enjoyed skiing Grand Massif. We rented a car at Geneva airport (just over an hour away). Though once in Saomens, a car is not really necessary, there is a ski bus stop just opposite the apartment that gets you to the cable car in around 5 minutes. It is a pleasure to have a real town of Samoens (not just a ski resort) with a nice selection of local shops - plenty of meats and cheeses and a quant market hall and pedestrian walking area. We were fortunate to visit the Wednesday morning market - bought enough meets to last well past our visit. Oh yes, we pickup what must be the most tasty olives ever. Plenty of other treats to select from. The studio apartment is good for the two of us, nice to have a rachlette and fondue maker (instantly enjoying our cheeses!). Nice holiday!
