Welcome to Quail Cove! We invite you to escape to our elegant private lakefront getaway in the California Sierra mountains. This is a family home in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings, while at the same time sophisticated and extremely comfortable.
It has a 75+ foot deck along two sides of the house which overlooks the lake. Floor to ceiling river rock stone fireplace and natural slate with hand inlaid tiles add to the mountain sophisticated charm. The house has been renovated extensively - the kitchen was completely remodeled in 2011 with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and Italian tile floors. Three bedrooms (one on first floor, two on second floor) and an additional second floor sleeping area with pullout bed easily make room for your larger group. We are on a lake with our own dock and private shoreline and you have use of our paddleboat. The house faces west which means we get the best sunsets. The yard includes several private lounging areas which overlook the lake. Top it all off with an afternoon nap in the hammock.

Our home is in a forested, private gated community called Pine Mountain Lake at the doorstep of Yosemite National Park (30 minutes from our house to the Yosemite west gate). It is a 2.5 hour drive from San Francisco airport (SFO). The complex is a vacation destination with it's own golf course, country club, tennis courts, pool, restaurant, and multiple beaches which are available to guests with our passes. There is a public marina on the lake which has boat rentals (power, sailboat, paddle), fishing supplies, and a marina grill. The area is both kid and senior friendly. There is an airport in the complex which accommodates small private planes and you can fly from San Francisco in less than an hour. There is also a horse riding stable in the complex. Skiing (both downhill and cross country) is nearby.
It is a 10 minute drive to the town of Groveland, CA which is a former gold mining town where you can step back in time - numerous restaurants, grocery store, library, gold rush museum, and even an old time 49er saloon with the original swinging doors from the 1800s.

The cabin is in a great location and serve as a great location for a family retreat or getaway. Love the location being so close to Yosemite!

Property #0733 in California was beyond our expectations in location and setup. It was the family's holiday home and we were a family group plus friends who really appreciated the relaxed nature of the house. The layout of the house made it very easy to accommodate us all and yet offer privacy for all. The weather was perfect in September so we could make excellent use of the balcony for meals and lounging about. Access to the house peddle boat was perfect for our young kids as were the beaches and the community swimming pool for refreshing swims. The wildlife (deer, woodpeckers) were a novelty for Australians who are used to kangaroos and wombats in our environment.
We were very grateful for such great access to the magnificent Yosemite National Park. We managed two visits in the week of our visit. We also took advantage of the wonderful restaurant for lunch one day, where we were impressed by the standard of food and service.
Pine Mountain Lake is a large, tastefully landscaped resort on a large scale. We were fortunate to be there in an out of season period when the resort was very quiet.
We have great memories of a wonderful week and would recommend it highly for those who are after a family type accommodation where they do not need to be on tender hooks about the perfect state of the house.
