Only a few miles from the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast and Cardigan Bay, the cottages are ideally situated to explore the wonders of West Wales.
There's a wealth of activities to suit all abilities and ages, come rain or shine.
On a dry day, there is nothing better than to explore the beautiful landscape and coastline of Pembrokeshire. A leisurely (or sometimes taxing!) walk along the famous Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coastal paths, will allow you to take in some breathtaking views and scenery and you may even be lucky enough to see the Cardigan Bay Bottlenose Dolphins which are resident in the area.
To get 'up close and personal' with the dolphins, seals and occasional whale, take a guided sightseeing boat trip around the coast or a sea fishing trip to catch your supper!
For those of you who would rather keep your feet on dry land, there are heritage sites and castles to visit. Cilgerran Castle, a beautiful ruin, is just 2 miles away from the Cottages at Fron Fawr and sits high above the Teifi river with views across the surrounding valley.
To walk along the Teifi gorge, visit the nearby West Wales Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran where there's a new visitor centre and organic café. The whole family can enjoy a gentle trip down the river in a canoe or the more adventurous can opt for a kayak.
National Trust properties and Cadw sites are plentiful and you can visit historic houses and gardens; try your hand at panning for gold in the Dolacothi Gold Mines; or take part in an archaeological dig at Castell Henllys, a reconstructed Iron Age Fort.
The beaches in West Wales are simply stunning - wide and open with rock pools and sand dunes or sheltered and sandy for lazy summer days.
Blue Lagoon is a new, indoor, state of the art, sub tropical water park, in Pembrokeshire. It has something for the whole family - baby pool for the younger family members, flume rides for the more adventurous (even some that go outside for part of the ride - even in winter!), a wave machine and a 'Lazy River' for a more leisurely adventure. Or, try the latest craze of Coasteering - adrenaline packed action and adventure for all abilities and ages. It couldn't be more simple - squeeze into a wetsuit, safety helmet and old trainers then scramble, climb, swim and cliff jump your way around Pembrokeshire's spectacular rocky coastline, turning rocks, cliffs, caves and waves into playthings! Staying with the outdoor water theme, why not have a surfing or windsurfing lesson? And fishing, be it sea, river or course fishing, if you're wrapped up against the elements and don't mind getting a little wet, the fish don't seem to mind either! If it's warm and dry that you want to stay, visit some of Wales' heritage sites and historic houses, which include some spectacular castles that remain intact and full of history and intrigue, such as Pembroke Castle or Carew Castle and Tidal Mill. Visiting a 'paint your own pottery' workshop, such as the Creative Café in Narberth, will enable you to try your hand at being creative and able to take home your individual creation to take pride of place. Or, there's Pemberton's Chocolate Farm where you can try making some hand-made chocolates and then purchasing similar to take home - not too many make it home though as they are too delicious to remain unopened! So, whatever the weather, there's always something to do Out and About in West Wales. There's not enough time to become bored and sometimes, there's not enough time to fit everything in.

We spent a wonderful week in Tansy Cottage and cannot recommend it highly enough. The cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest standards with everything you could possibly want. The attention to detail is outstanding with excellent beds and superb bathrooms. You will read many reviews highlighting how wonderful Clydey Cottages is for families and children (and it is - if only we'd had somewhere of this quality to stay when our children were small!) but we are a retired couple and we would certainly recommend it to others like ourselves who want a warm and cosy base to explore this beautiful corner of West Wales. The location is stunning, so quiet and peaceful and returning home to the lovely log fire on some unseasonably cold April evening was a real joy. Definitely the best place to stay in Wales whatever your age!

Just back from our second visit to Clydey Cottages. Last time we stayed in Fron Fawr: this time in the main site. We were 8 elderly people, and took The Farmhouse and Heather. Everyone was delighted with the accomodation: the organisation and attention to detail is second to none. Jaqui and Dewi deserve everyone of the many travel awards they have won.
The site is idyllic, peaceful and yet with amenities such as hot tubs, spa treatments, small shop and many others. Could not recommend it more highly!

We really enjoyed the fantastic cottages, extremely comfortable and well appointed. A perfect location for spending time with the family or simply to ‘get away from it all’ – while there wasn’t much mobile phone coverage (a good thing), the internet worked perfectly.
Walking / rambling are immediate from the cottages. The farm animals are a great experience for all ages. In the evenings we enjoyed a perfect fire while selecting a movie from the extensive DVD collection.
While remote enough for relaxing, we did venture out to see plenty sites including St Davids and the Wales Coast Path. If you are a cheese lover, the local cheese factory has many special treats.
Thank you for the opportunity to experience a new part of Wales in your fantastic property.

What a wonderful addition to the properties on the website! The cottages, the views, the hot tubs - everything that you possibly want.
Other owners beware - the quality of the welcome was outstanding! Arriving tired from driving to be met with a beautifully laid tray for tea, with welshcakes and three types of jam. Not forgetting the extra bowl of special treats for dogs! And the fresh flowers on the table....
As you can tell from the website there are two groups of cottages, of one to four bedrooms. We chose the Glyndwr at the Fron Fawr site, largely because it allowed us to take dogs, and had a secure private garden. Both sites have excellent facilities for children, especially those from birth to seven. These include an indoor/outdoor pool, amazingly equipped soft play area, and safe outdoor playing areas with a host of wheeled toys and an outstanding digger! Very popular were the walks each morning to feed the animals.
Perhaps it was most suitable for young families, or extended families (we were three generations) but they are also well located for exploring the surrounding countryside - beaches, coastal paths, etc.
Congratulations to Jacqui and Dewi for providing such a friendly and professional atmosphere.
