Dovecote View occupies what was originally the seventeenth century kitchen. It has now been refurbished to make an elegant split level studio apartment, with oak flooring, a hand finished kitchen, bathroom with luxury shower /water jets and cosy underfloor heating.
In the apartment, two comfortable oak window seats offer a panoramic view over a garden of mature trees, lawn, lily pond, and the dovecote. To the right of the entrance is a spacious open plan kitchen and living area, with a breakfast bar seating three, an extending dining table, and a pair of easy chairs. To the left is a huge Cotswold stone fireplace – a reminder of the original kitchen range. It now forms part of the carpeted bedroom area (with double bed), which leads into a light and airy, but wholly private bathroom and shower.
Across the hall from the studio is a separate games room, with flat screen TV, a DVD player, and traditional board games, puzzles etc.
One of Shipton Court’s most appealing features today is its gardens: beautifully landscaped in the early 1900s but then refined by the leading garden designer James Pulham, whose other commissions included the gardens at Buckingham Palace and the Royal Horticultural Society Gardens at Wisley.

Dovecote View makes a perfect hideaway for a peaceful break, surrounded by idyllic countryside for walking or cycling. There is an ample choice of nearby golf courses, and the market towns of Burford, Stowe on the Wold and Bourton on the Water are within easy reach. Oxford. Blenheim Palace, Chastelton House and Snowshill Manor are a short drive away. For a day at the races, Cheltenham’s Prestbury Park is less than thirty miles away.

What a wonderful apartment,I went by myself for a well deserved break but would be terribly romantic with someone special. beautiful grounds and surrounds a perfect base for the cotswolds.
