This private, fully self contained cottage is just a short walk to shops and cafes, only a five minute walk to the centre of town. Once a traditional miners' cottage, it’s now a cozy and comfortable holiday home.
This cute cottage has been restored to provide modern comfort and style whilst retaining the essence of early settlement in the mid 1800's.
Located just a short stroll to the National Trust classified town, this property is set in a quiet street adjoining Crown land. You can enjoy the tranquil view from the front veranda, dine outside in the gravel courtyard, or just observe the kangaroos grazing on the adjoining hillside.
Inside, the house is light filled and sunny. The comfortable lounge-dining area is decorated with a mix of vintage, modern and antique items. Interesting art works and artifacts add to the individual and eclectic atmosphere.
Relax and enjoy the rustic ambience of the cottage and the attractions of this charming and historic gold mining town.

Awarded the 2006 National Trust prize for the most intact historic street-scape, the town of Maldon is one of the best preserved examples of an Australian gold mining town. This historic precinct with a small population of approximately 1,200 is a popular tourist attraction. Street-scapes with ancient elm trees, nineteenth century stone buildings, old-style shop fronts and cottages erected in the heyday of the gold-mining era are typical. Today, the historic streets are lined with cafés, pubs, galleries, antique and specialty stores as well as a supermarket, butcher, bakery and news-agency.
