    Description

Belfast Retreat is a modern 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house with approximately 220 square meters of living space (2368 sq ft).

The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom which includes a spa bath, and it also has a fold out double bed sofa.  The second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a trundle.  The house comfortably sleeps 7 to 9 people depending upon the number of children.

The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, gas stovetop, two door dishwasher and stainless steel surfaces.  There is also a washer and dryer.

Other features of the house include a double garage, heated ski room, workroom with some ski tuning equipment included, wine cellar (usually locked) and a huge outdoor living area including ceramic paving, wood decking, large open fire place, and awesome views through a glass front fence. Great entertaining area!

One great feature of the house is the outdoor 4 person spa and open fire place.  This makes for great afternoons and evenings watching the sunset and the changing mountain and lake vistas.

This house is well appointed with several areas of floor heating cupboard heaters which are handy in the winter.  A gas fire place in the main living area adds to the comfort.

Queenstown is located near the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand. It has a long history for this part of the world starting out as a farming village and then growing when gold was discovered in the 19th century. The town boasts an international airport with excellent links to the rest of New Zealand and Australia. Over the last decade there has been significant development in the town centre with many new restaurants and shopping added. Belfast Retreat is located just a short 15 minute downhill walk to town but a much harder 20 minute walk back up (a taxi costs about NZ$7 from town and the vertical rise is about 130m). The house overlooks the bustling town yet is far enough away to not be overwhelmed. The views are incredible down the lake and across the water to the mountains across the other side. From the terrace one can easily while away the time watching the ever changing vistas of mountains, water, snow, boats and para-gliders. The location is ideal as you do not necessarily need to use a car to get to town for a variety of activities or dinner. For the physically fit, there are excellent walking trails behind the house that can take you to the top of Queenstown Hill for a panorama over the whole region. The walk takes about 1 hour at a reasonable pace uphill.

    Guestbook

The property was exactly as described and provided one of the highlights of our holiday. Belfast Terrace is situated at the top of the hill overlooking Queenstown and enjoys an enviable view across the lake to the mountains. The weather was good whilst we were there and we were able to spend every evening on the deck enjoying a pre dinner drink in the hot tub followed by a BBQ and then sitting around an open fire watching the sunset. Fantastic!!
The bedrooms and the lounge at the front also had unbeatable views.
Bathrooms and kitchen were modern and well equipped. This property would also make an ideal location for a ski holiday. We asked the agent if we could have a slightly later check out time because of our flight time and this was arranged. Queenstown itself provides an excellent base and has something for everyone.

This next bit is an observation and not a complaint and you don't have to include this .
I guess the only downside was that we had to pay for cleaning and the management charge which means that it wasn't in the true ethos of IVHE.
However the charge was exactly as quoted and we did accept the exchange on this basis. Saying this I wouldn't  have missed this opportunity to stay in this property and I would love to return.

We absolutely loved our stay at your comfortable home with the most amazing sweeping view over the lake, mountains and village below. Thank you for being so helpful with sight seeing, restaurant and misc. suggestions. A wonderful holiday home in a spectacularly beautiful (and fun) location!
