In Buenos Aires’ exclusive residential neighborhood, Recoleta, this two-bedroom, two-bath, luxury home exchange opportunity awaits seven flights up. With classic French and Porteño furnishings, you will experience the truly continental and sophisticated Buenos Aires lifestyle. Besides being elegantly furnished, it also has convenient amenities like lift access, Direct TV, LCD, DVD and a WIFI connection. There is a large kitchen, a brightly-lit living room, and a balcony where you can view bustling Buenos Aires below. One of the bedrooms is furnished with a double bed, while the other has a single bed with its own private bathroom.
Conveniently, one does not need a car in Recoleta; in fact, it is better negotiated on foot or using public transportation. When taking a walking tour, one can’t help but notice that though the architecture has a clear Spanish influence, there is something indefinable which makes it distinctively Buenos Aires. The numerous palm trees dotting the cityscape have a calming effect in this lively South American metropolis making it a wonderful home swapping destination.
Though it may at first glance seem a grim affair, you simply must not miss walking through La Recoleta Cemetery where elaborate marble mausoleums, family crypts, and sarcophagi are works of art. With over 6,000 statues and 90 of its tombs considered national moments, many renowned Argentinians have found their resting place here including Eva Perón. This sacred cemetery is so beautiful and unique, one can get lost in the “labyrinth of the dead.”
If you can make your way out of the “labyrinth of the dead,” The Basilica del Pilar adjoins the cemetery. A beautiful white church built in the eighteenth century, it’s sure to bring you back to the world of the living while allowing for further inward contemplation.
If you are further interested in religious history, a papal tour featuring the life of Pope Francis, formerly Archbishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires, is available.
Also in Recoleta is the Cultural Centre. Formerly a monastery, this eighteenth-century building houses sculptures and exhibitions; it also provides concerts and diverse, artistic workshops.
Known as the “Paris of South America,” Buenos Aires is one of the great, cosmopolitan cities of the world. Experience it with this exclusive home exchange option in the most affluent area of Buenos Aires, Recoleta.
Recoleta is the most exquisite and charming quarter of Buenos Aires. The name recalls the Recoleto Fathers monastery of colonial days, which today houses a Cultural Centre which is well worth a visit. The Basilica del Pilar church is the outstanding building in the park; it adjoins the Cemetery with its dazzling mausoleums, where the lives and deaths of generations of Argentine elite are remembered.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment located in the Recoleta barrio of Buenos Aires.
The location of the space is brilliant, with a major gourmet food market just around the corner. A very nice gym is a few blocks away. Recoleta is where you want to be for all the finer things Buenos Aires has to offer.
All taxi drivers know the main street and cross street where the apartment building is located; if you need to jump on the 'subte', the walk to the nearest subway station is about a ten minutes or so.
In short, this was a great place to stay in B.A., and we recommend other I.V.H.E. members to do so in future, as the hosts are young and energetic, and they were lovely to have met during our visit.

The apartment was in a great location and even though it was on a busy
street its on a high floor so you were not able to hear much traffic noise. The concierge who is always on the main door duty was extremely helpful especially when I managed to leave my wallet in a taxi and then have it returned (for a reward) the next day.
The decor in the flat was tastefully done and we had no complaints except the bathroom could do with a bit of modernisation and the smaller single bedroom was not as smart as the rest of the flat but overall I would recommend it to anyone and am considering maybe returning next year!

The stay in BA was excellent. The apartment is comfortable and well
equipped and Maria, the owner's sister, was very helpful when my wife had find a
dentist. because of acute toothache - we had to resort to home cooking rather than Argentinian steaks for 2
days! The apartment is very well situated and there is a supermarket round
