It is a very rare occurrence, if due to storm force weather, we cannot leave the dock, a refund adjusted to the time tied up and not engaged in charter activities will be made. While out on any adventure the weather tends to dictate our itinerary, but with so many options, activities, places to fish, safe anchorages, we will fish and explore rain or shine. As the weather forecasts are made by the National Weather Service, Captain Rob ultimately decides on the most appropriate daily plan for the comfort and safety of guests and crew. CAC and Captain Rob are not responsible for missed flights to Ketchikan from the Lower 48, delays due to lost luggage, illness, death, or any weather related event in Alaska or the Lower 48, including earthquakes, tsunami’s, and, volcano’s.

We had an absolute fantastic time with captain Rob and chef Katie about Saltery C in the Alaska wilderness. Captain Rob went out of his way to fullfill our wishes for the holiday and the combination of wildlife sighting and salmon fishing made it an adventure of a lifetime for our family. All the meals served by chef Katie was superb and gourmet quality - and we thoroughly enjoyed eating our catches every day. All in al a really great experience which we can highly recommend.

Our experience with your IVHE coordinating team was outstanding, with a lot of extra detail supplied about the trip, which made our decision to go and what to take with, so much easier.
Captain Rob’s boat is exceptionally well maintained, safe and clean, with all the amenities and equipment needed for this type of boat trip.
The description of the boat, facilities and what to expect was very accurate. We exactly knew what we were in for.
The way Captain Rob handled us in such a confined space and at close quarters for 5 days, was absolutely amazing. His intimate expertise in all the fishing and boating activities and his vast knowledge of the natural surrounding areas were easily and interestingly shared with his guests. He was excellent in keeping us informed about planned activities and was easy on a change of plan if we were more interested in doing something else. He was also an exceptionally good teacher and coach. To train three of the four guests who had no previous experience of fishing and helped them to catch dozens of fish, crabs and shrimp during the course of the five days, took some doing.
The five days on the boat was a life changing experience, one BIG learning curve and lots of fun. The excellent food rounded it off perfectly. This trip should be part of every outdoors type of person’s bucket list.
The good-byes were quite emotional, confirming the amazing bond that came about between guests and crew. Very, very special!

This is a trip of a lifetime. We could write for days about this trip, but to give you the highlights – learned to fish (and brought home close to 50 pounds of fish and shrimp too), viewed bears, orca, whales, porpoises, dozens of bald eagles, seals, the list goes on.
The views of mountains, forests, waterfalls, fiords and wildlife are a photographers dream.
Captain Rob is fantastic and shares he knowledge of Alaska’s Inside Passage. Plenty of great stories while keeping you comfortable and safe on the Saltery ‘C’. An unexpected surprise were the absolutely wonderful meals, often caught only hours earlier!
If you love nature, this is quite possibly will be the best 5 days of your life!
