AltitudeOne40 is set 140 meters above sea level, hence the name. Since commencing operation in 2007 as a luxury holiday home we have appeared in most of the major Australian newspapers and travel magazines. In 3 short years we have become know as one of the top 10 Australian beach homes, won 3 HIA awards and are known as an experience not to missed. We have had the pleasure of guests such as Grace Jones who booked in for 3 days and departed 3 weeks later.
The 17 acre property is 1 kilometer from front to rear boundary the latter ending in World Heritage Rainforest. The 300 degree view is simply breathtaking and according to those who have stayed with us is arguably the best in Australia. The property abounds with wildlife including the endangered cassowary, wallabies, sea eagles, white and black cockatoos and pademelons. We have groups of birds who migrate each year from Papua New Guinea. This brings new life to the forest during the spring months. The whales migrate in the winter months and can sometimes be seen from the balcony of A140. Migaloo the white whale has been recently spotted in the area.
AltitudeOne40 is open plan living and was designed by and architect to capture the stunning views. We do not have a jacuzzi or bath, just an 18.5 x 4.5 meter infinity pool which seems to melt into the azure waters of the Coral Sea.
One of my personal favorites is watching the light change to night, the moon rising red out of the ocean, skimming across the bay to finish by reflecting in the pool.
AltitudeOne40 the experience...
