Historic and pretty Parnell has many excellent shops and restaurants close by, and Auckland's biggest park and museum are a few minutes walk away.

The hop on/hop off tour bus which covers the whole city stops close by, as does Auckland's "Link" bus which circles the central city from the stop right outside, you don't need a car - it's only a few minutes ride to the harbour waterfront or to Newmarket, the premier shopping district.
