This 1000 square-foot condo is in a friendly 4-unit complex off the beaten path, but a short walk to town and resort amenities. Winter skiing in and out to Alaska's biggest and best resort, Alyeska. Living room and master bedrooms offer spectacular views of Alyeska Resort and of several hanging glaciers in the Girdwood Valley. Summer trails offer some of Alaska's finest, simple hikes.  No neighbors above or below and walls quite sound proof.

Girdwood, Alaska is a small town of about 2000 year-round residents.  It is home to Alyeska Ski Resort, Alaska's most renowned ski resort.  Alyeska is unique in that it's base is at sea level so getting there is easy.  The condo itself is slopeside of Alyeska Mountain, a two-minute ski to the closest chairlift and a 20-minute walk to the year-round tram that takes spectators 2300' vertical in 7 minutes.  No other buildings are positioned between this condo and the ski resort.

Girdwood is a 40-minute drive southeast along the beautiful Turnagain Arm from the Anchorage International Airport.  Look for bald eagle, dall sheep, baluga whale, and moose along the way.  Continue south out of Girdwood 90 minutes to Seward for some of Alaska's best halibut and salmon fishing. 

Car rental at the airport is encouraged so that you may be free to explore some of Alaska's southcentral (Kenai, Seward, Homer).  It is possible to arrange private transportation to Girdwood and simply walk to the resort after arrival, however.  The town center, with public library, post office, grocery store, and several rentals is a twenty minute walk from the condo.
