This Silver Star Mountain home is tucked away in the B.C Provincial Parkland (over 6000 hectors). The whole village and most homes are trimmed and decorated to look like turn a of the 20th century "gingerbread" town. Christmas lights shine year round In early 1900 this site has a history of being busy with extensive mining. Mineral claims were registered as "Prince of Wales, "Aberdeen"and "Silver Star".
This home is roomy and comfortable for a large family. There is master bed room and a tile and granite master bathroom. Also 4 queen beds and 1 set of bunk beds. The upper floor is casual elequont, leather couches and chair with a whole bank of floor to ceiling windows overlooking snowy mountains. The furnishings are craftman style solid oak handmade in B.C. Kitchen is fully equipped, and the large dining table is surrounded by bay windows with more scenery including the downhill slopes. The second floor is designed for television, games, hot tub and family fun. Antique sleds and skiis are use for decoration in this area. Recent New York Times describes Silver Star as "fabulous western snow without the celebrity scene". This year we are experiencing wonderful snow.
The Victorian style village is within walking distance and is small and quaint feeling. Every possible snow related activity is available such as ice skating , tubing, sleding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling,snowboarding and of course alpine and nordic skiing. The resort offers 115 ski and snowboard trails. There are 60 miles of cross country trailswhich are groomed daily. The whole village and resort has an incredible friendly sensation with the most energetic staff and also boasts a high altitude training center. Many ski teams, cross country especially, will be at Silver Star for upcoming Master Cross Country March 2011.
