The house is approximately 200 years old and though it has undergone much modernization and improvement it still retains much of its rural character. In the main house for example the ground floor has a magnificent arched stone ceiling. Both the house and cottage feature open stone fireplaces and exposed beamed ceilings throughout. The grounds are landscaped and incorporate a swimming pool and cobbled sun terraces. The property is surrounded by open countryside and unspoilt wooded hillsides.

The property offers an ideal base from which to explore this beautifully scenic region of France, with its wealth of tourist attractions. The Carmargue, Cevennes National Park, Gorge du Tarn, Mt Aigoual (winter skiing), Cirque de Navacelle and many other areas of outstanding natural beauty are all within easy driving distance. Medieval villages where time seems to have stood still dot the landscape. Throughout the year the colourful local markets and craft fares are buzzing with activity, and the open-air cafes and restaurants offer the opportunity to slowly watch the world go by.

For those who are simply seeking to rest and relax in the sun the Mediterranean’s beaches are an easy drive away whilst the local rivers offer canoeing and many crystal clear swimming holes during the summer.
