The Rundles-Morris House was designed by the respected young Canadian architectural firm Shim-Sutcliffe (http://www.shim-sutcliffe.com/).
The house functions as a deluxe suite, with a living room, den bedroom, master bedroom and two bathrooms en suite, as well as a third 'powder room' bathroom off the foyer.
It has a fireplace in the living room, and wonderful views of the Avon River.
Queen size beds, both with down comforters and pillows are in the bedrooms. Modern European and North
American furniture is featured. Seasonal, healthy breakfasts, consisting of local organic products are served daily.
Dinner may also be served in the house during restaurant hours; and should you wish to use the house for small meetings or parties, we shall be glad to cater these for you.
Rundles-Morris House was chosen as a "Record House" by Architectural Record in April 2002. (http://archrecord.construction.com/projects/residential/archives/0204Tower.asp)
We regret that the house does not have an elevator, and is not suitable for anyone who cannot climb stairs.
Includes breakfast.
We are located in the lovely city of Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Stratford, is home to the best theatre company in North America, the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (http://www.stratford-festival.on.ca/), showing performances from April thru November each season.
Rundles Restaurant is located here, one of the best restaurants in Canada, if not, North America, now for over thirty years. (Rundles is in operation from May thru October each season.) For more information about Stratford, and Southwestern Ontario, please visit the Stratford Tourism Alliance webpage (http://www.welcometostratford.com/)
From Straford, one can easily visit the historic village of St. Mary's, or, larger nearby cities like London, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Cambridge; most popular is a visit to the Amish and Mennonite regions around St. Jacobs, and old villages of Elora and Fergus. We are nearby the shores of Lake Huron, like old town of Goderich, as well as the pretty village of Bayfield, and the best beach in Southwestern Ontario, the Grand Bend. Also, the 'Pinery Provincial Park' is also a must to visit during the summer and fall months.
Elsewhere in Ontario, we are close to Toronto; the majestic Niagara Falls, and the pretty town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and the wine producing region of Ontario. The shores of Lake Erie are also close to us, as well as the northern tip of Southwestern Ontario, the Bruce Peninsula, and the Georgian Bay and Muskoka regions.
We are close to border US cities, like Buffalo, New York, as well as, Detroit, and Port Huron, Michigan. It is possible to visit us by train, using Canada's national rail service, Via Rail. Small jets can land at Stratford Municipal Airport.
