This Australian artist's holiday cottage in France is built in a traditional French style with blue shutters and tiled floors, and has all modern conveniences and a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering. It is very well furnished and set in a large garden setting. The shutters keep out the summer heat and you can park your car inside the property. The holiday rental is double-glazed and well heated for a winter exchange to France also.
There are two bedrooms; one with a king size bed and the other with a king size bed or two singles, ideal for up to 4 adults. Naturally all linen is supplied. The beds are supportive quality models.
There is plenty of outdoor furniture; table and chairs with parasol and sunloungers at the holiday house.
The large dining area has a refectory table that seats 6 while the sitting area is furnished with a leather couch and linen covered chairs. there is a small library of English books and the house is equipped with wireless high speed interent access for your laptop. The bathroom has a shower over the hot tub, basin, toilet and bidet. There are French doors leading outside the accommodation to the terrace and the garden, from the kitchen and the living room. In the living room there is a cassette-player and selection of music tapes. In the kitchen of the gite there is a washing machine.
The cottage accommodation is on the edge of the village in a quiet location but still very close to all "commerces" . You can unwind, but you will have all the life of a thriving French village close at hand. During the summer why not enjoy the wine this region has to offer outside on the terrace of the gite or under the trees in an idyllic garden setting - looking out at an 12th Century illuminated Tower?
Go to the Sunday market (and Thursday in summer) in our village and discover what food used to taste like. This region is famous for its food - foie gras, melons, cherries, Rocamadour goats cheese, Roquefort and has the highest per capita incidence of Michelin starred restaurants in the France.
Just a short walk away from the holiday cottage is the local supermarket which although small, is excellent. In the centre of the village less than a kilometre away from the vacation rental are three bakeries, an English bookshop, newsagents (with foreign language newspapers), post office, pharmacy, internet cafe, banks, 2 charcuteries/boucheries (delicatessen and butchers) a wine cellar, 4 cafes and several other shops. These and the market are open all year.
