Web accelerator programs

Please turn off any web accelerator programs you may have installed before logging into the IVHE members area.

To turn off the Google Web Accelerator:

  1. In the Google Web Accelerator Menu, select Preferences
  2. Uncheck the "Enable Prefetching" option OR add "www.ivhe.com" to the text box "Don't Accelerate These Sites".
  3. Save your preferences.

Special notice for Members using AOL or Earthlink browsers

The customised browsers provided by these ISP's often have problems accessing the IVHE members area. If you are using AOL or Earthlink as your browser, we recommend that you use an alternative browser such as Firefox (PC and Mac), Internet Explorer (PC) or Safari (Mac) to access the members area.

To access the members area using an AOL or Earthlink account:

  1. Connect to the Internet as normal.
  2. Minimise your AOL/Earthlink browser.
  3. Open an alternative browser and login.

Problems signing into the members area?

Are you having problems with your username and/or password?

  1. Your password is case sensitive and must not contain any spaces
  2. If you have forgotten your log in details, you may request them
  3. If you are getting username/password error messages before you attempt to sign in, you have used the remember me function and changed your password from another computer. Please click here to clear the remember me cookie on your computer.

Is your browser set up to support cookies?

Session cookies are a security feature that lets us know who you are as you move around the members area. They are not permanently stored, and will be removed once you logout and close your web-browser.

To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 6:

  1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Privacy tab, and adjust the settings to "Medium High" or lower.
  3. Click "Apply" to save your new settings.
  4. When you return to the members login page, select or press "Refresh" before you enter your username and password.

If you are still experiencing problems:

  1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Privacy tab, and then click Advanced.
  3. Click Override default settings, and then allow cookies from first-party Web sites and allow session cookies (this will allow the IVHE site to identify you when you log in)
  4. Click "OK" followed by "Apply" to save your new settings.
  5. When you return to the members login page, select or press "Refresh" before you enter your username and password.

If you are still experiencing problems clear your browser cache. To do this : In the Tools menu, click Internet Options, General, Delete Temporary Internet files.

To enable cookies in Firefox:

  1. In Firefox, on the Firefox menu, click Preferences.
  2. Click the Privacy tab, and then the Cookies tab.
  3. Check "Allow sites to set cookies" and "from the originating site only".
  4. When you return to the members login page, select or press "Refresh" before you enter your username and password.

If you are still experiencing problems clear your browser cache. To do this : In the Preferences menu, click the Privacy tab, the Cache tab and "clear cache now".
